Fragmented Memories

Artist statement:
I wanted to do a deconstructed landscape, more like snapshots of memories. Items that together build the landscape in your head. Creating a nostalgic feeling, a glimpse of childhood distilled into quite images floating in a void of space. Images that seem real like you could hear, smell of feel them. I segmented it by think black lines to show the disconnect and jumble that memory can devolve into. It creates a boarder to hem in my ideas and thoughts, also creating lines that I could ultimately segment the drawing into. My art is high detail with little contrast in attempts to play with the idea of memory’s fading over time. My art is inspired by the lower Filberg park, A place I spent a lot of time growing up. I wanted o capture the stillness and peace that I felt there, translating it into thin black lines,
